The significance of building Ngari Gunsa Airport

With the construction of Ngari Gunsa Airport, Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar can be accessed by air traffic. Ngari has many special natural and cultural attractions, but nothing is more influential than Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. Mt. Kailash is considered to be the hometown of Demchok, the residence of Shiva, and the Lake Manasarovar is one of the three holy lakes and is regarded as the mother of the Holy Lake. Besides the status of Buddhism, Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar are also showing amazing scenery.

After the completion of Ngari Airport, the economy and tourism developed rapidly. Ngari is located in a remote area at an altitude of 4,500 meters in the northwest of Tibet, about 1,600 kilometers west of Lhasa. Due to the special environment and inconvenient transportation, the lives of local people are difficult to develop.
